In addition to the approval of the examination facilities, Mother and Child Health Department at Shalamar Hospital also facilitated the approval of 33 examiners from Pakistan to conduct the MRCOG examination in Pakistan and abroad. One Day Regional Symposium and Fistula Repair Camp
Shalamar Hospital, in collaboration with the International Urogynecology Association, Pakistan National Forum on Women’s Health,the Fistula Foundation, and the Pakistan Urogynaecology Association, is set to host a One-Day Regional Symposium and Fistula Repair Camp on September 27, 2024, starting at 8:00 AM. This event will take place at the Shalamar Hospital in Lahore. The symposium aims to bring together healthcare professionals from various disciplines to address the issues surrounding obstetrical and iatrogenic fistulae. One of the main features of the event will be the live transmission of surgeries conducted on patients with these conditions. The live demonstrations are designed to educate and train medical professionals on the latest techniques and approaches to fistula repair. Celebrating the Inaugural Cohort of the Medical Enrichment Program
Shalamar Medical & Dental College (SMDC) and the Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering (SBASSE) at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) are thrilled to announce the successful completion of their first-ever cohort of Medical Enrichment Program. This intensive one-year program, launched in Spring 2023 allows SMDC MBBS students to study for one year at LUMS. The program is designed to elevate the quality of medical education in the country. The inaugural cohort completed this program with the generous support of the Shahid Hussain Foundation. The inaugural cohort of students, including Ali Asim, Zuha Bilal, Aalian Ubaid, and Muhammad Anas, received their certificates and transcripts at a special ceremony. Shalamar Medical Dental College leads the way with 147 graduates, followed by 78 graduates from Shalamar Nursing College and 90 graduates from Shalamar School of Allied Health Sciences. The convocation ceremony will not only honor the academic achievements of these students but also showcase the commitment of SIHS to producing professionals who will contribute significantly to the field of healthcare. The event will feature distinguished guests, faculty members, and keynote speaker Dr. Muhammad Sabieh Anwar from LUMS Syed Baber Ali School of Science and Engineering, who will impart wisdom and inspiration to the graduating class. Shalamar Breast Center Inauguration
Shalamar Hospital is proud to announce the launch of its state-of-the-art Breast Center, a flagship clinic of the Women’s Health Center.U.S. Consul General Lahore, Kristin Hawkins participated in the inauguration of the center, which will provide comprehensive breast cancer care to women in Pakistan. The Center is a one-stop service for all breast cancer related issues for women, including advanced screenings, diagnostic evaluations, and personalized care plans. This center will be linked to health services for women at Shalamar and support the one-stop care delivery model. The launch of the center marks the beginning of breast cancer awareness month and demonstrates Shalamar’s commitment to the treatment of this illness. The US Consul General Lahore, Kristin K. Hawkins inaugurated the Shalamar Hospital Breast Centre today. This newly established center will provide comprehensive breast cancer care to women in Pakistan, including screening, diagnosis, treatment, and support.At the ceremony, Consul General Hawkins stressed the importance of early detection and treatment of breast cancer. Ms. Hawkins also noted that U.S. and Pakistani doctors have participated in exchanges, sharing medical expertise to strengthen both our health care systems.Mr. Shahid Hussain, Chairman of Businessmen Hospital, also spoke at the ceremony. He highlighted the hospital’s efforts to build a Women’s Health center to provide affordable health care to all women, regardless of their socioeconomic status.
