Dr. Muhammad Hamid Zaman, a Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Global Health and the Director of the Center on Forced Displacement at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute in the USA, and Prof James Wescoat from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, were guest speakers discussing the topic of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR).
They discussed about the increasing problem of antibiotic resistance in Pakistan and the impact it has on public health. They also shared their expertise and research in the field of AMR, providing valuable insights and perspectives on this important global health challenge. Dr. Zaman also highlighted the gaps that need to be filled to address this issue in Pakistan.
Dr. Mariam Danish Iqbal, Assistant Professor Microbiology also presented the data collected on AMR at Shalamar Hospital and inferences drawn.
